The paper and paint quality is important


Some teachers say it isn't important what paper or paint you start with. Get a feel for the process. That might be somewhat true, but I have found that quality paint and high grade paper make a huge different in the brilliance of the painted picture.

This is done with 140lb paper, but not high grade. And with student grade paints. Still was happy with the results.

A Good First Try...

My Exploration of Water Painting.




And then just played with color and leaf shapes. :)









So I made a few smaller pictures based on a few lessons I found online. Getting a little better I think.

















Next tried to do a monochrome type mountain scene.

still missing something.. like skill!









Tried a bit of clouds and mountains... Not too impressive.
