Tutorial: Paper Sizes and Folds 2

You can always use an 81/2 x 11 size paper to make any of the folds and cards I will be demonstrating but if you would like to have the A4 card to start with this is the process to take.

Take a 12x12 cardstock and cut it at 11 3/4".

Turn it on its side and cut it at 3 3/4"

Now you have the A4 Card that can be used horizontally or vertically. By folding it in half you will have a A5 card that can used horizontally or vertically.

By folding the A5 in half to get the A6 card.

Tutorial: Paper Sizes and Folds

After you have made a few cards with the basic fold in the center you will be ready to try some new folds and designs. On the side panel I will have links to a tutorial section demonstrating a variety of folds and designs for you to try! J

Paper sizes: The North American letter paper size is typically 8½”x11”. Another common size is the 12”x12” The rest of the world goes by the metric measurements and the typical size is an A4 card- 21 cm by 29.7 cm which is slightly longer and not as wide.

A visual comparison:

Red= 12x12

white= A4

grey= 81/2 x 11

I will be using the A4 card size often as it works well for various card making patterns.
